Officer 17. The Air Force Development Test Center, 46th Test Wing, is
issuing a solicitation for the design, fabrication, test, and delivery
of approximately 100 power amplifiers for the 6 Ghz to 18 Ghz
frequency band. The amplifiers will be used in the new Radio Frequency
Simulator (RFS) located in the Guided Weapons Evaluation Facility
(GWEF) at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The amplifiers will be
specified for high third order intercept point and low noise figure.
Additional capabilities include Transistor Transistor Logic (TTL)
controlled enabling of the DC bias lines, TTL selected amplifier bypass
switching, and a -20 dB sample of radio frequency (RF) output. One TTL
logic bit will control both the DC enable and bypass functions. Also,
require hermetically sealed package and standard connector for power
and control lines. Successful supplier will be required to warrant that
the items supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the
purpose intended by the Air Force. Solicitation release anticipatedon
or about 15 February 1997. Contract award anticipated June 1997, with
delivery to begin 120 days after contract award. This acquisition is a
100% small business set-aside; only offers from small businesses
relative to SIC 3679 -- Electronic Components, will be considered. All
responsible small business sources may submit a proposal which shall
be considered by the Air Force. Additional technical information may be

regarding this acquisition. The Ombudsman's purpose is not to replace
the technical staff or contracting officer but to serve as an honest
broker and communicate any contractor concerns, issues, and
disagreements to the appropriate government personnel. The Ombudsman
should only be contacted with issues or problems that have been
previously brought to the attention of the Contracting Officer and
could not be satisfactorily resolved at that level. Collect calls
