C -- CORRECT BOILER DEFICIENCIES SOL 581-8-97 DUE 022897 POC Mike Hughey, Contracting Officer Furnish Architect/Engineer services (including planning, consultations, site visits, and design specifications, cost estimates, construction period services). The intention of this project is the design and construction (2 preliminary design alternatives) for the replacement of two 8,500 lbs. steam/hr boilers with one large boiler or two medium boilers to correct steam load deficiencies at this medical center due to VA criteria and the addition of a newly constructed Research Building, and to replace existing Boiler Plant Emergency Power System consisting of a 240V, 75KW emergency generator and 260A transfer switch, wiring, etc., with a new system and relocation of boiler control room if needed to make space for the installation of the new boiler(s). Estimated construction cost range between $600,000 and $1,000,000. Interested firms shall submit SF254 and SF255 to the issuing office no later than the close of business 2/28/97.
