Cobb (602) 267-2841 The USPFO For Arizona, in support of the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Program (SSP), is seeking sources for a multi-phrase construction project at Camp Navajo military installation, Bellemont, Arizona. The scope of work is to provide for the following: the modification of six to eight earth covered igloo magazines, including: a new larger motorized blast door, new headwall, waterproofing and insulation, lighting protection, power, provisions for environmental control and intrusion detection system, grounding, new mechanical equipment room, and new apron. The modification of the existing Rocket Motor Transfer Facility (MTF) by providing a 20 feet long of 46 feet wide addition, with lightning protection, tow rollup doors, a bridge crane extension, and a truck loading/railcar unloading dock. The extension of the existing primary electrical distribution service to the igloo magazines requiring modification. The modification of the exiting railroad systems to provide a railcar holding area with lightning protection, and a new rail spur to the MTF addition. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The solicitation package for this Invitation For Bid will be issued on or about 5 February 1997. A pre-bid conference and site visit is tentatively scheduled for 13 February 1997. The tentative bid opening for this project is 7 March 1997, with a contract award occurring on or about 28 March 1997. Completion of contract performance will be 262 days from contract award. There is a non-refundable fee of $110.15 for each set of plans and specifications. Plans and specifications will be sent to Prime Contractors only. Plans and specifications will also be available for review at the office of the Contracting Officer at the above address.
