COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 23,1997 PSA#1767NASA, Procurement, John F. Kennedy Space Center, Kennedy Space Center,
FL 32899 66 -- ACQUISITION OF X-RAY FILM DIGITIZING SYSTEM POC Ginny Powers,
BOC-110., 407-867-7869 EG&G Florida, Inc., in support of NASA at the
Kennedy Space Center, is seeking sources to provide one (1) each X-ray
film digitizing system. The system supplied shall incorporate the
following features: 1) must meet or exceed specifications as outlined
in the American Society of Metallurgical Engineers (ASME), Section V,
Article 2, Appendices III, Mandatory Appendix VI and ASTM E-1475; 2)
the film digitization scanner must incorporate a minimum dynamic range
of 0.005-4.10 optical density on a single scan; 3) allow for easy
interface and compatibility to remote users, e.g., NASA Government
facilities such as Marshall Space Flight Center; 4) multiple field bar
code capability to be incorporated with each radiograph for
identification and archival purposes; 5) user selectable scanning
formats. User must be able to define, select and scan a discreet
area(s) on a radiograph as well as be able to scan an entire 14" x 17"
piece of X-ray film; 6) the system must be able to perform a single 50
micron resolution scan and display at 12 bits minimum digital fidelity
on a 5 megapixel monitor; 7) an image record data base that conforms
to ASTM E-1475; 8) the system must incorporate a means of indicating
system performance, i.e., the system shall perform calibration routines
that indicate spatial resolution, contrast sensitivity, density, etc.,
and indicate what steps are necessary to recalibrate the system; 9)
the system shall incorporate a means of calibrating the high resolution
(5 megapixel) monitor to ensure consistent montior output and display
conditions; 10) the system shall incorporate the ability to scan two
separate images and save them together as a single continuous file; 11)
the system shall incorporate a means of allowing users to preset a
series of viewing and enhancement commands prior to scanning a
radiograph, and allow users to save the exact setting, filters, etc.,
that were applied to an image immediately prior to interpretation.
Suppliers capable of providing a system that meets these specifications
are invited to send a data package including sufficient technical data
to establish a bonafide capability of meeting the requirement, price
sheets, GSA schedule (if applicable) to EG&G Florida, Inc, attn: Ginny
Powers, BOC-110, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899. A request for
proposal will not be issued until after any submitted data packages
have been reviewed for technical acceptance. Data packages should be
received within 15 days from date of publication. (0021) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0271 19970123\66-0014.SOL)
