D -- PURCHASE AND MAINTENANCE OF FACSIMILE MACHINES SOL DASW01-97-R-0031 DUE 022497 POC Ann F. Scotti, Contracting Officer, Brian G. Clary, Contract Specialist (703) 693-5010. DSS-W, in support of Defense Telecommunications Service -- Washington has a requirement for the PURCHASE of new NON-SECURE facsimile machines and on-site preventative maintenance and remedial maintenance for existing facsimile machines in the national capitol region. The government intends to use a RFP for this procurement as defined in FAR part 15.4. This is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE and the government may make multiple awards for this contract. The standard industrial classification code (SIC) is 4813, 500 employees or less. For new equipment purchases, two types of facsimile machines shall be provided under an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract (IDIQ). 1. Hi Volume 33.6KBPS Modem, 50-page document feeder, Multi-Access, 500 Sheet or greater paper supply with optional additional paper tray with the capability for legal size paper, with laser technology, 2500 pages per cartridge, RS232 interface, 100 PAGE Expandable Memory Capability, 3-Second Transmission Capability, and quick-scan Capability. 2. Hi-VOLUME, 50 PAGE Document Feeder, 14.4kbps modem, full dual access, 250-sheet paper supply with optional additional 250-sheet paper tray with the capability for legal size paper, with laser technology, RS232 Capability, 50 page memory and expandable memory capability, 2500 pages per cartridges, 6-second transmission capability, quick-span ability. On site maintenance service shall be provided 5 days per week excluding Government holidays between the hours of 0830 a.m. to 0500 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Maintenance services include all preventative procedures provided as needed on each machine covered under the contract, call-in Emergency remedial maintenance services with a six hours response time and Normal remedial maintenance with a twenty four response time. A loaner machine of equal or greater capability shall be provided in the event the machine is operable for greater than 2 working days from the time of the initial services call. The evaluation criteria for the technical proposals are: 1. That the equipment proposed meets the minimum requirements of the specification. 2. That the firm has the experience and resources to provide new facsimile equipment and is an authorized distributor or dealer of the proposed equipment. 3. That the firm has the management and technical experience and capability to provide preventative and remedial maintenance services in accordance with the specifications and the statement of work. Contractors shall submit pricing and descriptive literature on the equipment proposed with adequate specifications to demonstrate compliance with the government's requirements.
