F -- JOHN DAY DAM FISH STUDY SOL DACW57-97-R-0009 DUE 030497 POC Contract Specialist MARTINA HARWOOD (503) 326-5816 (Site Code DACW57) The Portland District intends to place an order with Normandeau Associates for studies of fish conditions as they pass spillbays, flow deflectors and overflow weirs at the John Day Dam. This study will utilize the balloon tag method to study the fish. FOB: Rufus, Oregon. Statutory Authority permitting other than full and open competition: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Firms that recognize and can furnish the required items are encouraged to identify themselves to the Contracting Officer who will permit their participation in current and future solicitations. The requirements for this contract include: conduct the fish study from 15 -- 30 April, determine salmonid fish condition/mortality with immediate and delayed reulsts (48 hours), and descaling/external injuries between treatment and control groups, fish condition should be estimated between 5% of confindence level, fish should be (10-20cm size) provided by the contractor, a final report is required by 30 Sep 97. This project will take the services of a project manager, senior biologist, biologists and technicians, boat operators and require release hoses, holding ponds, pumps, boats, balloon tags, radio tags, tagging equipment, and telemetry equipment.
