The National Cancer Institute (NCI) intends to negotiate with PerImmune, Inc. for a 24-month extension of Contract N02-BC-33009. The Contractor currently performs animal experimentation for the above entitled project. This extension will provide for a phase-out period to allow the effective transfer of the work to a Government facility. Authority for this action is 41 USC 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). Inherent duplication of cost to the Government and risk associated with moving the animals make competition unfeasible for this phase-out period. (See numbered Note 22).
