C -- REPLACE EMERGENCY GENERATORS POC Renate Rainboth, Contracting Officer, 914-838-5263 Architect-Engineer Services to provide a complete design to replace existing emergency generators (approximately 14)(20 to 400K) throughout the hospital complex. Rearrange/relocate existing generator building/rooms to accommodate new design and equipment. This will include all controls, switching/switches, raceways, wiring and associated piping for the emergency generator systems with all applicable safety practices and procedures and any other local, state and federal regulations for Project #533-97-125, Replace Emergency Generators. Work to include, but not limited to, site visits to verify existing conditions, preliminary plans, working drawings, construction period services and detail cost estimates. Area of consideration is restricted to firms located within a 50 mile radius of VA Medical Center, Castle Point, New York. Estimated construction range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 dollars. Selection criteria to be used in selecting firms shall be as outlined in FAR 36.602-1 and will include, butis not limited to: a) professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of the required service to include: Electrical Engineer with a license in NY State, and CAD Specialist; b) examples of specialized experience and technical competence in the various disciplines required for the specific project; c) past job experience and performance on Government contracts and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedule; d) location of the firm or working office providing professional services, including consultants, within a 50-mile radius of the project site; e) volume of VA work in the past 12 months based on fees received; f) qualifications and performance of sub-consultants proposed for the project; g) computer capabilities, including drawings on AutoCAD Release 12 and Specifications on Microsoft Work 6.0. This project is open to both large and small business. Firms desiring consideration shall submit Standard Forms 254 and 255 by COB February 21, 1997. Award is subject to availability of funds.
