EL SALVADOR: SPECIAL AND REGULAR UNLEADED GASOLINE The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.96.440. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: EL SALVADOR. Description of content: Technical regulations containing a report and technical specifications for special and regular unleaded gasoline, including standards for consultation, definitions and abbreviations, characteristics, sampling, methods of testingand analysis, and conformity with other standards. 7. Objective and rationale: To regulate the requisite physico-chemical characteristics of special and regular unleaded gasoline for use in motor vehicles. In addition, the differences between leaded and unleaded gasoline are defined, as the Regulations do not apply to aviation gasoline, known as AVGAS, nor to special leaded gasoline and regular leaded gasoline. Thus they also help to protect the environment, by preventing further deterioration of the ozone layer. 8. Relevant documents: NSO 75.04.01:96. 9.
