RESEARCH: The Defense National Stockpile Center (DNSC) is conducting a
market survey to determine the standard commercial practices of firms
engaged in providing services for material handling. DNSC contemplates
incorporating these commercial practices into future solicitations
dependent upon responses received to the survey. DNSC anticipates
issuing a solicitation for material handling to relocate 12,875
fifty-five gallon drums of aluminum oxide abrasive grain from New
Brighton, MN to Hammond, IN. The average weight of each drum is
approximately 1,043 pounds. The material is currently stored in a
cordwood fashion and shall be relocated and stored in the same manner.
The government will provide the necessary pallets and concrete blocks.
A fixed-price contract is contemplated. Responses to the survey are due
by cob February 19, 1997. Inquiries should be forwarded to the point of
contact identified in this notice if you should wish to participate in
this survey. (0023) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0100 19970127\V-0005.SOL)
