Buyson. DESCRIPTION OF WORK -- The project in general consists of
renovating and modernizing the existing air-conditioning chilled water
plant and system serving Building 3143, Fleet Training Center (FTC) at
San Diego Naval Station, by replacing one of the two existing 704 KW
cooling capacity water chiller with a new one of equal capacity and
converting the existing constant volume chilled water distribution
system into a modern primary/secondary distribution system. The work
includes replacing the existing 704 KW cooling capacity, water cooled,
electrically driven, centrifugal chiller utilizing refrigerant R-11
with a state-of-the-art 704 KW cooling capacity, water cooled,
electrically driven centrifugal chiller equipped with Variable
Frequency Drive (VFD) and utilizing refrigerant HCFC-123, providing new
VFDs for the existing chilled water pumps that will be utilized as
secondary pumps, providing wet bulb condenser water reset, converting
the existing chilled water distribution system to a primary/secondary
distribution system, providing new 2-way cooling coil control valves
for four (4) existing air-handlers, providing new controls for the
modified chilled water plant and distribution system, providing a new
refrigerant leak detection and exhaust air system including exhaust air
fan and duct work, testing and balancing chilled water distribution
system and controls, providing electrical work for the new chiller,
pumps, and VFDs, abatement of asbestos containing materials (ACM) in
some piping insulation, removal of existing chiller and some piping
with lead based paint (LBP), and all incidental related work, complete
and ready for use. The building will be in operation during
construction. The work shall be phased to minimize the impact to
training operations. -- The estimated cost is between $250,000 and
$500,000. -- Firm Fixed Price Contract. -- Contract duration is
approximately 120 calendar days. -- This proposed contract will be
unrestricted. -- The Standard Industrial Code is 1711 and theannual
size standard is $7.0 million. -- Bidders should request in writing
stating IFB number N68711-96-B-2155, with complete name, address, area
code and phone number and whether the firm is bidding as a
prime/subcontractor/supplier. -- Telephone requests will not be
