AMSSC-AD, NATICK MA 01760-5011 62 -- DESIGN AND INSTALL DAYLIGHT/NIGHTTIME SIMULATION LIGHTING SYSTEM
SOL DAAK60-97-T-7096 DUE 031797 POC Contract Specialist EMILY A. SMITH
(508) 233-4368 (Site Code DAAK60) The U.S. Army Soldier Systems
Command has a requirement for the design and installation of a
daylight/nighttime simulation lighting system in shop building No 5, Rm
S136, Natick, MA. Proposed design shall include the following
information: Light fixture manufacturer and model; number, type and
wattage of lamps/ballasts; method of installation in existing or
modified hung ceiling, and a drawn to scale sketch detailing proposed
fixture heights and positions relative to existing suspended ceiling.
Proposed design shall meet the following requirements: System shall be
manually programmable to achieve varying illumination levels and shall
be capable of storing a minimum of 16 settings (8 daylight and 8
nighttime). Daylight settings programmed shall include average settings
for dawn and sunset. Daylight simulation requirements: (a) Uniform
illumination over a 32 ft by 16 ft by 16 ft (LxWxH) area. (b)
Characteristics which simulate the shape of the spectral power
distribution of average daylight for wavelengths in the 350 to 770
nanometer range. Vertical illumination level at 6 ft height shall be a
minimum of 35 foot-candles. Nighttime simulation requirements: (a)
Uniform nighttime sky illumination over a 32 ft by 16 ft by 16 ft
(LxWxH) area. (b) Characteristics which simulate the shape of spectral
power distribution for wavelengths in the 350 to 900 nanometer range
to achieve the following 4 conditions: (1) Zenith full moon, clear sky
-- LUX: .2, footcandles: .02 (2) Zenith quarter moon, clear sky --
LUX: .03, footcandles: .003 (3) Moonless, clear sky -- LUX: .003,
footcandles: .0003 (4) Moonless, overcast sky -- LUX: .0003,
footcandles: .00003. Proposals will be evaluated on technical merit and
cost. A preproposal site visit has been scheduled for Thursday,
February 20, 1997 at 1000 hrs in Bldg 5, Rm S136. The SIC Code for this
acquisition is 1799. The Request for Quotations will be released on or
