Contracting Officer. The National Institutes of Health, DHHS has a need
to establish a follow-on to the NIH Electronic Computer Store I
contract for the acquisition of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) general
purpose computers and peripherals. This acquisition may result in
multiple awards to one or more Contractors. An Indefinite Quantity,
Indefinite Delivery Type contract is contemplated. The Government
anticipates awarding a contract for twelve (12) months and four one
year option periods. This solicitation is being issued on an
unrestricted basis and will contain the following standards: SIC 5577,
Size Standard: 1000 employees. This contract(s) will be available for
use by all Federal Agencies. A Request For Proposal (RFP) will be
available on or about February 5, 1997. The RFP will be available
electronically through NIH's WEB site http://www.nih.gov/od/opm/. Any
and all amendments to this solicitation will be made available through
the NIH's WEB site specified above. Parties interested in responding
to the RFP must obtain the document electronically. The National
Institutes of Health will not provide hard copies of the RFP. A draft
of the Statement of Work, Section C, is currently available for
industry comment. The draft Statement of Work is being provided via
electronic mail as an attachment in Word Perfect 5.1 format. Parties
interested in receiving the draft Statement of Work should forward the
E-mail request to Mr. Ron Hess, Program Manager at the following
E-mail address: RH96B@NIH.GOV. The Government reserves the right to
formally respond or not respond to vendor comments or questions,
however, the Government will consider all comments in the final
preparation of the solicitation. Interested parties are requested to
forward all comments and questions concerning the draft Statement of
