COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 28,1997 PSA#1770William J. Hughes Technical Center, Contracts Branch, ACT-51B, Atlantic
City International Airport, NJ 08405 D -- MODIFICATION OF PROTOTYPE INTERACTIVE COMPUTER BASED TRAINING
PROGRAM FOR CTX5000 OPERATORS SOL DTFA03-97-R-00012 DUE 021397 POC Jose
Benitez, Contracting Specialist, ACT-51B, 609-485-6127. The Aviation
Security Human Factors Program Office of the FAA William J. Hughes
Technical Center's Aviation Security Research and Development Division
has requirement for its prototype computer based interactive (CBT)
program for the CTX-5000 explosives detection system to be rendered
suitable for stand-alone operator training. Work includes the
reprogramming of the CTX-5000 CBT Operator Certification Test and
Revision and Enhancement of the CTX-5000 Operator CBT Software Program
(Beta Version). Since the CBT was developed by Safe Passage
International, a developer of conventional X-Ray CBT programs, it is
the FAA's intention to procure these services from this company on a
sole source basis to avoid the extensive an unacceptable delays, and
possible technical incompatibility, that would result from selecting a
different CBT developer to make the required revisions. (0024) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0029 19970128\D-0006.SOL)
