Waterman, Contracting Officer (520) 629-4623 The VA Medical Center, Tucson, AZ intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Edwards Communications, 230 S. Mesa Dr., Mesa, AZ 85210, for the maintenance and repair of the medical center's existing fire alarm system. The fire alarm system consists of a Gamewell 100 mil, 4 channel base loop system. All major base loop components are Gamewell. The contract is expected to be for the period of 4/1/97 -- 12/31/97 as the current system is gradually phased out and a new fire alarm system for the medical center is installed. Service will include quarterly Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations inspections and quarterly inspections to ensure the system is in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association-72H guidelines.
