COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 28,1997 PSA#1770DOD CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL ADVANCE PLANNING BRIEFING FOR INDUSTRY
(APBI) An APBI covering the DoD Chemical/Biological (CB) program will
be conducted on 25-26 March 1997 at the Kossiakoff Center, Johns
Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland. It will be
hosted by the U.S. Army Chemcial and Biological Defense Command
(CBDCOM), but will also include briefings from other services and
commands. The keynote speakers will be Dr. Theodore Prociv, Deputy
Assistant Secretary of Defense (Atomic Energy)(CB Matters) and MG
George E. Friel, Commander of CBDCOM. Briefings will address chemical
demilitarization (including stockpile and non-stockpile materiel
disposal) and chemical and biological defense items for detection and
identification of CB agents and protection against the effects of CB
agents. The APBI is designed to provide management, marketing, and
technical representatives from industry with acqusition requirements
and strategies and specific contracting opportunities over the next
