Murray or Susan Bennett (703)305-6016 OR 305-6831 The third open Season solicitation for federal supply schedule 71, part I, section H for household and quarters furniture will issue on or about February 25, 1997. Offerors will have at least 30 days after issuance in which to submitan offer. This multiple award schedule consists of wall units, loft groups, beds: roll-about, wall beds, bunk beds, dressers, night stands, tables, Kitchen cabinets, dining room furniture, mattresses & mattress/boxspring sets, and optional installation. Testing is required for bunk beds, wall beds, and mattresses and must be completed and submitted on or before April 15, 1997. SIN515-1, wall units, and SIN 515-4, loft groups, are set aside for small businesses. This solicitation has been updated to incorporate portions of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA) dealing with specific changes to thetruth in negotiation act (tina), and revised statutory authorities for the acquisition of commercial items. Clause I-FSS-164-D "option to extend the term of the contract", which gives GSA the option to extend the term of contracts awarded under this solicitation for an additional five (5) year period has been added to this solicitation. To assist customer agencies in determining when they should seek a price decrease, a level called a maximum order will be established under each contract. When an agency order exceeds this amount, it is recommended that the agency contact the vendor for a reduced price. The vendors will not be obligated to accept these orders in accordance with FAR 52.216-19. Contract awarded as a result of this solicitation will be indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity W/EPA clause.
