This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12, subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in the notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a Request for Quotations (RFQ) number RFQ 97-502. This solicitation document will incorporate provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-42. The Standard Industrial Classification codes are 3315 with small business size standard of 1000 employees or less for the metal staples; and 2299 with small business size of 500 employees or less for the vegetation control mats. The requirement is for delivery and supply of the following items: 1) VEGETATION CONTROL MATS: Plastic, polyester or similar; slit or X cut in center of the mat for placement; permeable; black color is preferred, but will accept gray or brown colors. Minimum life span of three (3) years on the ground. Size 36" x 36". Quantity: 54,000 each. 2) STAPLES FOR INSTALLATION: 6" long, 1" across; can vary 1/2" to 1" from these measurements, 12 gauge or stronger. Quantity: 270,000 each. Performance period: March 1 through March 15, 1997. All above items shall be delivered F.O.B. destination to the following address: Deschutes National Forest, Sisters Ranger District, Pine Street and Highway 20, Sisters, Oregon 97759.
