A -- EVOLVED SEASPARROW MISSILE PRE-PRODUCTION ENGINEERING SOL N00024-97-R-5481 POC Mr. Mike McGill, Contracting Officer, (703) 602-8000 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to contract with Hughes Missile Systems Company, P.O. Box 11337, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337, for Pre-Production Engineering Efforts for the Evolved Seasparrow Missile (ESSM). Tasks will include engineering planning, production tooling and test equipment design, All-Up-Round handling equipment design, and other engineering tasks necessary to facilitate Low Rate Initial Production of the ESSM. Hughes Missile Systems Company is the designer and developer of the ESSM, and is the only company which possesses the in-depth technical knowledge of the ESSM to satisfactorily perform the work under the anticipated contract in the requisite timeframe. No other source is technically qualified and has the necessary resources to perform the work described herein in the timeframe required, and no other supplies or services will fulfill the Navy's requirements.
