C -- REPLACE FIRE ALARM PROJECT" POC Christopher J. Grubbe The DVAMC Birmingham, AL requires the services on an Architect/Engineer (A/E) for Project Entitled "RPLACE FIRE ALARM". The following services are required: 1. The A/E shall provide professional technical services for the complete design of Project No. 521-97-101, Replace Fire Alarm System. Design typically includes preliminary plans through construction documents, including specifications and cost estimates. The intent of this project is to totally replace an obsolete fire alarm system with one of state-of-the-art technology. Work may include, but is not limited to architectural, electrical, and fire protection systems. 2. The A/E shall prepare all documents for this project from interaction and planning with VA Engineering Service and Acquisition & Material Management Service staff. The A/E shall make site surveys, verify as-built drawings, analyze existing utility systems as necessary, and complete any and all work necessary to furnish complete design in accordance with VA Handbook H-08-15, Volume C, "Minimum requirements for A/E Submission" for Non Recurring Maintenance projects and scope of the referenced project. 3. The A/E shall utilize VA Construction Standards, VA Master Construction Specifications, VA Standard Details, VA Handbook H-08-15, and VA Designing Criteria in preparation of the contract documents. These items will be furnished by the VAMC to the A/E upon request. The construction costs for this project is estimated between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. The area of consideration is restricted to within a 150 mile radius of the DVAMC, Birmingham, AL.
