requirement for installation of sump pumps, clay valves and check
vavles in Building 3804. The contractor shall provide all personnel,
equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services
necessary to perform Installation of Sump Pumps, Clay Valves and Check
Valves in Building 3804, as defined in this statement of work, at
Building 3804, Edwards Air Force Base, California. The contractor shall
install three new sump pumps suitable for 250 GMP @ 50 TDH, up to 9'
sump pump depth and to include 5 HP, 1800 RPM, 3/60/230/460 volt
explosion proof electric motor. The contractor shall replace and
install nine clay valves equal to the existing valve (3 at each site).
The clay valves to be replaced are three 4" valves, three 6" valves,
and three 8" valves. All valves are electrically/pneumatically
controlled and have electrical solenoids and pressure controls to
operate switches. The contractor shall replace three check valves.
Prior to commencement of work, the contractor shall provide the
following: a. Product data and/or cut sheets for the sump pumps, clay
valves, and check valves. b. Proposed schedule of sump pumps and clay
valve installation. c. Proposed schedule of check valve installation.
4. Required inspections: a. At completion of installation of sump pumps
and clay valves (rough in). b. Mechanical function of check valves. c.
Pipe interface with existing main water supply lines. d. Leak test. e.
Final operation of sump pumps, clay valves and check valves. 5.
Location of work is Bldg 3804, Edwards AFB, California. Pumps are
located inside jet engine testing chambers. The pumps are in
underground pits directly under exhaust tubes of engine testing
chambers. It may be necessary to work with a 2-foot clearance. 6. The
hours of work shall be between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. 7. At least one
system will be fully operational at all times during the work. The
contractor will coordinate work schedule with the user. Anticipated
performance period is 30 days ARO. A site visit is scheduled for
Tuesday, 11 Feb 1997, at 10:00 a.m., meet at Building 2800, Base
Contracting, Edwards AFB, California. This acquisition is 100% small
business set aside. Standard industrial classification code:7699. Small
