AMERICAN SOCIETY OF NAVAL ENGINEERS (ASNE) SYMPOSIUM, WASHINGTON, DC ASNE Day 1997, the annual technical symposium sponsored by the American Society of Naval Engineers, will be held 18-20 March at the Sheraton Washington Hotel, in Washington, DC. This year's theme is Naval Engineering -- Delivering Excellence. In addition to the insightful technical papers, the annual meeting will include a one-day forum for industry and government to discuss the key aspects of DOD's Acquisition Reform initiatives. This special session will be conducted on 19 March in conjunction with the Defense Department's second Acquisition Reform Day. ASNE Day '97 will be complemented by a Professional Development Day to be conducted on Friday, 21 March 1997. The morning session will address ship acquisition and will cover all milestones in the ship acquisition process. The afternoon session will cover ship life cycle maintenance and the Fleet Modernization Program. The Society looks forward to another successful show, and to growth in participation of members and non-members alike.
