The Army Research Laboratory (ARL), intends to procure for a Computed Tomography X-ray System. The contractor shall provide a X-ray system for the non-destructive X-ray analysis and reverse engineering of metal, ceramic, polymer, and composite parts. The X-ray system shall have the minimum capabilities of computed tomography, digital radiography, and real-time radiography. The X-ray system shall be state-of-the-art in all respects, both hardware and software. The X-ray system shall be equipped with state-of-the-art three dimensional graphics capability and an appropriate color printer. The X-ray system shall be equipped with state-of-the-art reverse engineering capability, such that tomography data is quickly and easily converted into 3-D parametric data sets for solid modeling, computer aided design/computer aided engineering, and reverse engineering. The X-ray system shall include an X-ray generator, cooling system for the generator, appropriate collimators and filters, solid state detector system, base plate and mounting towers, computer system for data acquisition, analysis, and display, four axis precision manipulator, closed circuit TV system, and an appropriate cabinet or collapsible room type X-ray shielding enclosure. The proposed SIC Code is 3844. The period of performance shall not exceed 9 months without options. Delivery shall not be made prior to March 1997, unless agreed to by the Contracting Officer. The contractor shall notify the Contracting Officer at least 10 days prior to delivery. Delivery shall be made at the Army Research Laboratory, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
