Officer, Rosanna Browning DHHS/PSC/AOS/DAM has a requirement for Wang
Maintenance. In accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as implemented by
FAR 6.302-1, the Government knows of only one source, Wang Federal,
McLean, Virginia, capable of providing the required service. The
Government has a need for nationwide preventive and remedial
maintenance of Wang VS minicomputers and peripherals including Wang
telecommunication equipment on a per-call and time-and-material basis.
Wang model numbers 4230, 4230A, DW/OS-60, 5574-1, 5577, DW/OS-55,
5535, 2265V2-2, 2265V-3, VS-100, 2219V-1, VS65, VS15, 2268V-3, VS7310,
6554, and NETMUX-28 are to be maintained. This maintenance shall
include principal period maintenance (PPM) between the hours of 8:00 am
and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. All other time is considered
maintenance outside the principal period of maintenance (MOPPM). The
maximum response and repair times required for calls placed during the
PPM are as follows: 1) For mainframes, disk drives, telecommunication
devices, and tape drives, the call back time is one hour, the response
time is four hours, and the repair time is eight hours; and 2) For all
other equipment, the call back time is four hours, the response time
is eight hours, and the repair time shall be by the next business day.
For mainframes, disk drives, telecommunication devices, and tape
drives, the maximum response and repair times required for calls placed
during the MOPPM are as follows: 1) Call back time is one hour; 2)
Response time is by agreement; and 3) Repair time is within eight hours
of arranged response time. Maintenance is required for a total of 34
government sites and is to be performed in the following cities:
Washington, DC; Falls Church, VA; Rockville, MD; Bethesda, MD; Research
Triangle Park, NC; Atlanta, GA; Cincinnati, OH; Birmingham, AL; Boston,
MA; New York, NY; Jamaica, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Wilkes Barre, PA;
Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Carnville, LA; Albuquerque, NM; Oklahoma City,
OK; Kansas City, MO; Denver, CO; Billings, MT; Aberdeen, SD; San
Francisco, CA; Sacramento, CA; Salinas, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Tucson, AZ;
Window Rock, AZ; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Anchorage, AK; and Hato
Rey, PR. The period of performance shall be one year from the effective
date of contract with two one-year option periods. Concerns having the
ability to provide the service described herein are requested to
provide written documentation evidencing their capability and the
telephone number for a point of contact. Responses, which must be
received within 45 calendar days after publication of this notice, are
to reference requirement number 213-97-0008 and be addressed to Bettie
Hartley at the above address. If no affirmative responses are received,
the Government will proceed with negotiations with Wang Federal.
Responses which do not provide the aforementioned documentation will be
considered non-affirmative responses and will not be given further
