Officer, 617-377-3118. This project will replace the existing domestic
hot water, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system
and controls with a design-to-build, turn-key four season water
source-geothermal-heat pump system in Building 1825, Hanscom AFB MA.
Building 1825 is an approximate 3,000 sq.ft. office area with 20
people. The principal items of work include but are not limited to:
design, site preparation, excavation, drilling deep water well,
trenching, paving, concrete work, roof patching, piping, mechanical
systems, controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system,
exterior and interior electrical connections, fire detection, duct
work, system testing, balancing, shop drawings, as built drawings, and
miscellaneous other work. The contractor shall provide all labor,
material, equipment, tools, coordination, quality control, and
supervision. The following are minimum qualifications the Contractor
must possess: The design drawings and calculations must be stamped by
licensed professional civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers in
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; A PE stamp will be required on all
drawings submitted for construction. The contractor shall be
responsible for the proper sizing, calculations, shop drawings and
installation submittals for the geothermal system. Contractor shall
provide pollutant emission information of new system versus the
existing system. The Government will provide existing condition
drawings of the building both in mylar and Microstation CADD disks.
There will be optional bid items for the following: provide three zones
with controls; ductwork, new suspended ceiling tiles, provide Johnson
Controls Metasys for the control of the HVAC and Mech Room equipment,
connect meters to Johnson Controls base-wide EMCS, provide and connect
water well and geothermal heat pump performance monitoring equipment;
and provide design and as- built drawings in Microstation Verson 5.0.
The Contractor shall have installed five or more Standing Column Wells
in the New England Region with in the past 60 months. The Contractor
must be a member, in good standing and certified well driller with the
National Ground Water Association. The Contractor performing the
drilling must have at least 60 months of experience in drilling wells.
The Contractor must possess a valid International Ground Source Heat
Pump (IGSPHA) installer certification. The period of performance for
this project will be 120 calendar days. The magnitude of construction
is $100,000 to $250,000. This is a firm-fixed price contract. All firms
interested in receiving a copy of the IFB should respond in writing
