Location is Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. Demolition will include the selective removal of the exterior skin and the structural system, and the complete removal of all interior finishes and utilities; asbestos abatement and disposal will be required. Renovation will provide new private living quarters with bathrooms and kitchens for enlisted personnel, new exterior entrances via concrete balcony walkways, new exterior stairwells, structural upgrades, a new metal roof, new lounges, new laundry room, new storage rooms, new mechanical and electrical rooms, and new supervisory office. The entire facility will receive new mechanical, plumbing, electrical and communication systems. Infrastructure work to include sidewalks, road repair, and utilities (water, gas sanitary sewer and electrical distribution). Landscaping will not be required. Plans will be issued on or about 14February 1997 with bid opening on or about 18 March 1997. It is anticipated that the Government will require a 240 day bid acceptance period.
