Contracting Officer (301)227-1159 The Naval Surface Warfare Center,
Carderock Division seeks sources within industry for oil content
monitoring (OCM) systems to examine an oily waste stream and detect
oil-in-water concentrations. The system shall have, as a minimum, the
following characteristics: (1) Ability to monitor oily waste streams
and alarm at the 5 or 15 ppm oil-in water level; (2) Capable of
monitoring flowing streams at flow rates of 1-100 gallons per minute;
(3) Response time of less than 1 minute. The monitor will be used for
examining and detecting oil in wastewater from the effluent of a
shipboard oily waste treatment system. The minimum and maximum oil
concentration which the OCM can accomodate and measure, as well as the
response time, flow rate capability, cost, size and power consumption
of the monitor must be provided. A summary of agents which could
potentially interfere with the operation and performance of the OCM is
also required. Responses to this synopsis are requested within 21 days
from the date of publication. This synopsis is for information purposes
only to identify potential suppliers. It does not constitute an RFP and
does not obligate the Government in any way to purchase any of the
