G-SEC-2A, (202) 267-1892. The Coast Guard seeks information on the
availability of carrying devices for large lead-acid batteries. These
batteries are used at solar powered lighthouses to operate the main
light, fog signal and support equipment. Batteries are comprised of 6
cells, varying in weight from 62 pounds to 313 pounds, depending on
capacity. Cells also vary in size depending on their capacity from 0.55
to 2.51 cubic feet. Cells must be supported from the bottom, capable of
being transported upright over rough terrain by two or more individuals
and installed on a battery rack. Manufacturers having a device capable
of performing this task should send product literature to: Commandant

Government will not pay for any literature submitted nor does it
guarantee that any products will be purchased. Literature will be
