R -- MARKET SURVEY -- WEATHER FORECASTING SERVICES DUE 040197 POC Contact Point, Victoria West, Code 210.86, (904) 779-3041, Fax (904) 779-3061 The U.S. Navy is considering contracting Weather Forecasting Services for the Naval Atlantic Meteorology and Oceanography Detachment, Guantanamo Bay Cuba. The scope of services is area and aviation specific forecasting for Naval Base Guantanamo Bay Cuba and adjacent waters. Complete aviation services would be required for the airfield from 1000-1800 Monday thru Friday with approximately 5-10 flights per week, and would include hourly observations and terminal aerodrome forecasts when the airfield is open. Additionally, local area warnings and advisories would be provided to the Naval Base for severe weather, including hurricanes and tropical storms. Government housing is available for contractor employees as well as hospitals and commissary.
