Thomsen, 303/236-9443, Contracting Officer The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Law Enforcement Office, Boise, Idaho intends to issue a sole source contract to Sig Arms, Inc. for the following items: (1) Sig Sauer P-220-45-KSS, .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, K-kote finish, three (3) magazines and siglite night sites, 45 each; (2) Sig Sauer P-229-40-BSS, .40 S&W caliber semi-automatic handgun, black stainless steel, three (3) magazines and siglite night sites, 115 each; and (3) Sig Sauer P-230-380-B, .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun, blue finish, three (3) magazines, 165 each. These required handguns are the Bureau's standardized issue since 1989 when the change was made from revolvers to semi-automatic firearms. All Officers, Armorers, and Instructors have been trained. Any change would be cost prohibitive and deterrent to the Officer's safety and survival. See Note 22. (0030)
