To be a single point pick-up, deck mounted, non-slewing pivoting type, capable of a minimum lowering speed of 12 meters/min, a max lowering speed of 30 meter/min and a max hoisting speed of 30 meters/min. The davit and rib operation and handling inboard of the gunwale shall bewithin an envelope 7.92 meters fore & aft, 5.35 meters athwart ship and 4.49 meters high.
