NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Offers for Replace Joint Seals at Shuttle Landing Facility Runway, Taxiway, Ramp and Apron at the John F. Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The scope of work to be performed consists of providing the labor, equipment and materials to remove and replace the joint seals in a portion of the main runway, taxiway and apron area of the Shuttle Landing Facility. The work to be performed consists of removing existing seal material, blasting and cleaning joint surfaces, and instaling new joint material. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with KSC drawings and specifications. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA MidRange Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within eighty (80)calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for the procurement is 1799. The corresponding size standard is $7.0 Million. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about February 5, 1997, with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about February 26, 1997. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFO. Drawings will be available from the identified point of contact. All responsible large or small business sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in ASCII or RTF format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
