The Immigration and Naturalization Service intends to purchase canines to replace or augment canines supporting the Border Patrol and Inspections operations. The canines must exhibit certain traits in their temperment, drives and character and must be able to pass a series of tests administered by the Government's canine personnel to ensure the canines are capable of working in a Border Patrol and Inspections environment. The contract term will be for a base year and two option years. It is anticipated that 120 canines will be purchased over the life of the contract. The Government reserves the right to make multiple awards for this requirement. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered.
