Z -- CONSTRUCTION, DEMOLITION AND REPLACEMENT OF BULKHEAD AND APPURTENANCES, PLUM ISLAND ANIMAL DISEASE CENTER, GREENPORT, NEW YORK SOL 8202-3K15-97 DUE 042397 POC Contracting Officer, David Springer, 301-344-0263 Z-Pre-Solicitation Notice -- The Contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment, and supervision, etc., necessary for the Demolition and Replacement of Bulkhead and Appurtenances at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC), Greenport, New York. The work includes (1) removal and replacement of approximately 200 linear feet of bulkheads, wales, fender piles and tie rods; (2) renovation of an additional 450 (approx) linear feet of bulkheads, including removal and replacement/ reinstallation of fender piles, riding piles, wales and tie rods; (3) installation of a cargo ramp; (4) repair of another cargo ramp; (5) installation of a personnel ramp; (6) installlation of dolphins; (7) installation of new low pressure light fixtures; (8) removal and installation of concrete drives and walks. The total Estimated Cost of Construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Time for completion of the work will be 180 calendar days from the date of issuance of Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid meeting is tentatively scheduled for April 3, 1997, at Plum Island. Sets of plans and specifications will be available for a non-refundable charge of $75.00 (check or money order) made payable to USDA, Agricultural Research Service.
