(704) 257-4293 In order to implement planned treatments to reduce the
rate of gypsy moth spread, the U.S. Forest Service is proposing to
negotiate a contract with Hercon Environmental for the formulation of
3,230 kg of Disrupt II to treat 19,000 acres. Mating disruptants are
considered pesticide treatments; therefore, the formulation must be
registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The
Forest Service will supply the active ingredient (600 kg of racemic
disparlure) to formulate into controlled release dispensers, the
Disrupt II. The formulation is 17.9% active ingredient; therefore, 170
g of finished product is applied to each acre. Estimated price range
is $100,000.00 to $250,000.00. All responsible parties may submit an
