Contracting Officer, (904) 882-3416 ext 3162 The Sensor Fuzed Weapon
(SFW) Program Office plans to award a contract for production of
approximately 70 CBU-97(D-4)A/B, Sensor Fuzed Weapon Training Rounds.
The contractor will produce CBU-97(D-4)A/B for delivery to U.S. Air
Force Area Attack Program Office for use in aircraft flight
certification programs. The Government anticipates contract award in
Mar 97 with 15 month expected total period of performance. Textron
Systems Division is the only manufacture of SFW. A reprocurement
package is not available for the CBU-97(D-4)A/B. This synopsis is for
planning purposes only and shall not be considered an IFB or an FRP and
is not to be considered as a commitment by the government. All
responsible sources shall be screened on the following qualifications:
knowledge and production capability of the SFW; knowledge of SFW
interfaces; knowledge of SFW operations and capabilities; and the
ability to meet the production schedule. After all statements of
capability have been screened, a subsequent solicitation resulting from
this announcement will be issued to those prospective sources which, in
the sole judgment of the purchasing activity, have a potential to
successfully fulfill this requirement. The request for proposal is
anticipated to be released within 30 days. Firms wishing to be
considered for this effort should submit their qualifications to the
contracting officer, ASC/YHK, Attn: Mr. Mack Kirkland, 102 W D Ave, Ste
300, Eglin AFB FL 32542-6807. The firm must specifically address all
requirements of this synopsis, and should include a statement whether
or not the firm is large, small, or small disadvantaged business
concern as defined in FAR 52.210-7000. Responses to this notice must be
received not later than 15 calendar days after publication in the
Commerce Business Daily. An Ombudsman has been established for this
acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and
communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an offeror
prefers not to use established channels to communicate his/her concern
during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Potential
offerors should use established channels to request information, pose
questions, and voice concerns before resorting to use of the Ombudsman.
