The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to modify Contract M67854-95-C-0038 awarded to General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS), Woodbridge, VA to accelerate design maturation prior to the Interim System Review-1 in support of the Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle Program Demonstration/Validation (DEM/VAL) Phase. GDLS is the only source with the requisite in-depth knowledge of the evolving AAAV design necessary to successfully perform the required engineering tasks. The effort covered by the proposed modificaion includes activities such as model and full-schale hydro-dynamic testing; weapon station firing; water jet development/testing; armor development/testing; lightweight track development/testing; software brassboard prototype testing, and various other design maturation activities.
