The mail processing services will be for customer agencies of a Franchise Business Activity (FBA)/Cooperative Administrative Support Unit (CASU) consortium. The customer agencies are located throughout the U.S. A resulting contract/s (more than one contract may be awarded) will provide various consolidated mail functions. The services may include one or more of the following: delivery point barcode, combine and presort of First and Periodic Class Mail, metering of non-qualifying First, Standard, and Periodic class, certified/registered mail, and First and Periodic Class Bulk Rate Permit mail. Services may be requested via Task Order or other mechanism as identified by the Government, describing the work requirement, deliverable and any special condition of the requirement. Period of performance is expected to begin around 7/1/97 for a period of 1 base year and 4 additional 1 year options. INTERESTED CONTRACTORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ENTER INTO ARRANGEMENTS WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS IN ORDER TO OFFER THE BROADEST POSSIBLE GEOGRAPHIC COVERAGE.
