DO NOT REQUEST PLANS NOW. A SOLICITATION NOTICE WILL BE PUBLISHED BEFORE INVITATIONS ARE ISSUED. The work includes but is not limited to the Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and supervision to renovate the existing emergency and normal electrical distribution systems at the Naval Hospital. The work includes replacing the two existing 500 KW generators, their enclosures, controls, all associated wiring, transfer switches and emergency distribution switchboards with new. The existing normal power switchboards and air circuit breakers shall be refurbished. The interior electrical work shall consist of adding a metal raceway, wire, receptacles, wall switches and luminaries in patient rooms. Additionally, provide transformers, panelboards for emergency power and construction of new electrical closets. Construct a new building to house the new generator switchgear and automatic transfer switches. The project and all incidental related work shall provide a complete and useable system. The contractor will be required to complete the work in 232 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. -- Following tentative dates apply: Issue invitations 03/97, open bids 04/97, complete contract 12/97. -- Estimated cost is between $500,000.00 and $1,250,000.00.
