10 -- BACK UP IRON SIGHT TO BE PLACED ON M4A1 CARBINE SOL N00164-97-R-0047 DUE 041497 POC Contact point, Ms. Joyce Gibson, Contract Specialist, Code 1162NM, 812-854-1573 This solicitation is for the manufacture and delivery of a commercial/non-developmental Backup Iron Sight in accordance with specification to be furnished with the solicitation. Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for 50 each minimum and 20,000 each maximum. The Backup Iron Sight will be a component of the SOPMOD-M4A1 Accessory Kit and will typically be attached to the M4A1 Carbine at all times as a back-up to any sighting system used on the M4A1 Carbine. The backup Iron Sight will fold to allow proper positioning of the primary optic for a clear viewing path. The Backup Iron Sight shall interface with the M4A1 Carbine Upper Receiver Group (URG) accessory mounting rail and Rail Interface System. The mounting interface is defined by MIL-STD-1913. Ten (10) identical product samples and a concise technical proposal will be required with each proposal. Any difference between the product samples and contract deliverables should be described in the technical proposal. Delivery to be 60 days after placement of initial delivery order and 30 days for all subsequent delivery orders. Delivery is F.O.B. destination. Shipping destinations will be provided with each order. Award will be made to the offeror who proposes the best value to the Government as determined by the source selection criteria.
