Notice of intention to award a firm, fixed price purchase order to EG&G Corporation, 35 Congress Street, Salem, MA, for minor modifications to an existing, fully militarized rubidium standard (Rb Std) for use in fixed ground applications in support of satellite communications terminals. This project is a Producibility/Reliability/Availability/Maintainability (PRAM) initiative sponsored by the PRAM Program Office. The Rb Std must provide a 5 MHz square wave output, satisfy stringent radiation hardness requirements and serve as a form and fit replacement for an existing discontinued Rb Std. Authority to procure is pursuant to 10 USC 2304 (C)(1), only one responsible source. Delivery is required no later than 7 months after contract award. This synopsis does not constitute a Request For Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation For Bid (IFB) and is not intended to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
