U.S. ARMY INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND (IOC) ADVANCED PLANNING BRIEFING FOR INDUSTRY (APBI), MARCH 3-5, 1997, MOLINE, ILLINOIS The theme of this year's APBI is "Opportunities for Industry Relevant -- Responsive -- Ready." It will focus on IOC core competencies: Power Projection, Industrial Operations and Munitions. This APBI will continue an active dialogue between the command and current potential contractors. It provides a broad overview of long-term acquisition planning, specific near-term plans for ammunition procurement and details of research and development efforts. It will also discuss policy changes, initiatives and strategies affecting the industrial ammunition base, and other topics of special interest to industry. There will be opportunities to meet and discuss issues with key command officials. The Welcome/Opening Remarks will be given by Major General James W. Monroe, Commanding General (CG), IOC. The Keynote Speaker will be Brigadier General Joseph W. Arbuckle, Deputy Chief of Staff for Ammunition, U.S. Army Materiel Command. The U.S. Army Armament Research, Development & Engineering Center (ARDEC) Overview will be given by Brigadier General James W. Boddie, Jr., CG, ARDEC and the Development Opportunities for Force XXI will be presented by Mr. Carmine J. Spinelli, Technical Director, ARDEC.
