Native Health Service intends to procure the following requirement, as
a sole source acquisition from Coherent, 3270 West Bayshore Road, Pala
Alto, CA 94303: Model 7970: Nd: Yag Ophthalmic Laser System-Demo unit
includes: 1064 nanometer 5 Nd: YAG laser, continuously variable power
to 10 millijoules, firebutton, 2 pulse per second repetition rate,
YAG: less than 7 micron spot size, burst mode of 3. Includes Coherent
LDS-10 type slit lamp for Model 7970. The ND: YAG head shall be
contained in a sealed chamber. The laser shall deliver a spot size of
7um at focus. Energy setting selections shall be continuously variable
from 5-10mJ per pulse. Treatment parameter selections of 1, 2 or 3
burst per shot in a microsecond interval. The laser shall produce a
pulse duration of 3nS and a 16 degree cone angle. The N d: YAG Laser
shall be designed with a slit lamp fire button & footswitch delivery
modes. The laser shall have a red HeNe aiming beam with a two point
focusing system. The aiming intensity shall be adjustable up to 1mW &
controlled by a push button selector on the control panel. Optical
breakdown shall be preset in the laser system at a distance of 167um
posterior to the aiming beam focus. The slit lamp table shall have a
cantilevered table with wheelchair accessibility. The laser slit lamp
shall have an optical resolution of 160 line per mm. The slit lamp
shall have a green fixation light. Multiple magnification selections
for 5X, 8X, 12.5X, 20X, 30X. The laser shall have a microprocessor
controlled circuitry for overall system operation, safety checks &
system calibration. Qty 1 EA, with two year warranty; & Laser Indirect
Ophthalmoscope (Model LIO) delivery system with high visibility
stationary safety filter, laser coupler module with built-in storage
container, one pair argon safety goggles & one laser objective lens to
be selected from the following: (1) 320mm, 13.5 inches working
distance, (2) 420mm, 16.6 inches working distance, & (3) 520mm, 20
inches working distance. Qty 1 EA, with one year warranty. Training
included. The YAG Laser and Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscope must be
compatible with pre-exiting Coherent 2000 laser. The Laser must be
approved by the FDA for capsulotomy, iridotomy & pupillary
membranectomy. The Laser manufacturer must be ISO 9001 certified. The
procedure to be used is Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The
