C -- THE KC FACILITIES SERVICE OFFICE IS SOLICITING FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR DESIGN AND CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE RAPID CITY SOUTH DAKOTA MAIN POST OFFICE SOL 193045-97-A-0035 DUE 030797 POC Robert J. Sorensen, Architect, (913) 831-1855 ext. 463. The Kansas City Facilities Service Office intends to award a single contract for architectural services for design and preparation of contract documents and for construction administration for the expansion of the GMF (Main Post Office) in Rapid City, SD. The project will be approximately 20,000 to 30,000 square feet. Qualified firms are invited to submit forms SF254 "Architect Engineer....Questionnaire" and SF255 "Architect....Specific Project" for their firm, and forms SF255 for each proposed consultant firm to the address listed above, postmarked no later than March 7, 1997 @ 3:00 p.m. Submitting firms with more than one office must indicate upon its form 255 which office and the staffing of that office only in which the work will be performed. Qualified firms will: include a minimum of three persons qualified to sign contracts, have a majority of corporate officers or principles registered architects, have a minimum of three architects registered in any state in the upper Midwest (ND, SD, MN, IA, WI, MI, IL) with two (2) of the three (3) in South Dakota, be able to furnish the services of at least one engineer registered in any of the above states in the fields of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical and one landscape architect, include capability to utilize 'AutoCadd' release 12 for drawing document production. Any of the above listed disciplines (except architects) may be furnished through consultant firms to the prime architectural firm. Consideration will be given to prime firms on the basis of geographic location as: 'local' (those firms located within an approximately 120 mile radius of Rapid City SD), 'adjacent' (firms located within an approximately 350 mile radius of Rapid City SD), 'other' (United States with principals holding the above registration). Firms will be considered 'local' or 'adjacent' on the basis of location within the appropriate area of the office listed on form 255 as the office which will carry out all architectural design, production, coordination, and project management work. The location of consultant firms will not be considered in determination of geographic location. Proof of errors and omissions insurance, or of the ability to obtain such must be included with the submittal. Participation of bona-fide minority business firms is a consideration in Postal Service selections. It is prohibited to pay any fee, brokerage fee, commission or percentage on any basis to any firm or person contingent upon the award of this contract. Submittals will not be retained or returned. Firms wishing the submittal returned must supply a self-addressed, postage paid envelope. This is not a request for proposal. This office does not supply SF254 or SF255 forms.
