Command intends to issue a small business set-aside solicitation for
development and qualification of a crashworthy troop seat that can be
implemented in the UH-1N (2BN), UH-1N (4BN), CH-46E/D, and UH-3H
helicopters. This solicitation hereby cancels NAVAIR Synopsis No.
50072-96. Pursuant to FAR 19.703 (a) the following applies: This
requirement is offered for limited competition to eligible Small
Business Concerns, the SIC code for this requirement is 3728. This
procurement is a 100% set-aside for Small Business firms whose total
number of employees does not exceed 1,000. The resulting contract will
be firm fixed price with two production options for each helicopter.
Each option will include up to 1600 seats for the UH-1N (2BN) and UH-1N
(4BN), up to 10,000 seats for the CH-46E/D, and up to 800 seats for the
UH-3H. All interested parties may request a copy of this solicitation.
The Navy intends to release the RFP via the Internet on the World Wide
Web Server at the NAVAIR Home Page at the following direct cite:

RFPs may be sent via E-mail to CHERNOMASD.JFK@NAVAIR.NAVY.MIL with a
copy sent to MARASTM.JFK@NAVAIR.NAVY.MIL. Written requests may be sent
to the Naval Air Systems Command, Air 2.5.1.5.2, 1421 Jefferson Davis
Hwy, Arlington, VA 22243-5120. Facsimile requests are acceptable at
703-604-2968. However, all prospective offerors are encouraged to use
the Internet to respond. Telephone requests will not be honored. All
Internet responses must give the return address and the mailing address
in the body of the request. Internet responses without a return address
will not be recognized. The solicitation will be made available on the
Internet in Word 6.0 format. The home page may be accessed utilizing
WEB browsers such as MOSAIC. Offerors who have requested a copy of the
RFP will be notified via E-Mail when it is released. Written inquiries
