226-6431. Marine Diesel engine, minimum eight cylinders, displacement
of not less than 1750 cubic inches if two-cycle or 2100 cubic inches
if four cycle, with rating for continuous service of not less than 960
brake horsepower rated at 1800 rpm, running on No. 2 diesel fuel,
hydraulic-reverse reduction gear, and fittings for the government owned
tugboat, Kenosha. Machinery will be installed by government personnel
in the tug. The contractor shall provide several tasks on site related
to installation. The contractor shall provide complete marine diesel
engine, electronic injection fuel system, reduction gear, electronic
engine control system, air intake system, exhaust system, raw water
pump with heat exchanged and all piping between it and the engine for
sea chest cooling, air starting motor with controls, alternator for
engine electronics, ready for exiting engine foundation. Components are
to be rated continuous duty in marine service, and are to be completely
assembled as a unit, tested and ready for installation prior to
delivery. The tug, Kenosha, is located at the Sault Ste. Marie,
