This is a notice that the Defense Industrial Supply Center (DISC) intends to release a request for proposal to suppliers of wood & related materials, millwork, and plywood & veneer, fscs 5510, 5520, & 5530 respectively. The solicitation is for a prime vendor to cover various customer requirements in the Mid-Atlantic Region and Europe. The prime vendor concept entails a partnering between the supplier and the government through the employment of commercial practices, and a ONE-ON-ONE relationship between the supplier and the various activities it will be supporting. DISC will hold a pre-proposal conference at the Norfolk naval shipyard during the week of March 10, 1997.
