This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. 52DDNE-7-90055, is issued as a RFP. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-42. The U.S. Department of Commerce/ NOAA intends to purchase the following specific make and model items: 1) DISC Model 510-2-4, 1284Gb (494 slot) multifunction opticaljukebox with (2) changers and (4) HP C1113F 2.6Gb multifunction optical disk drives, completely assembled and factory tested prior to shipping, Qty 1; 2) Hardware installation and testing of D510-2-4 (by IBM) and first year annual/warranty on-site maintenance, Qty one (1) year; 3) Annual/post on-site maintenance by IBM, Qty one(1) year. Maintenance includes parts, labor and travel; hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with a four (4) hour response time; 4) 2.6Gb multifunction optical media of HPC1113F, part #P2600E, Qty 1; 5) Tracer optical jukebox software supporting up to 512 slots (Solaris), part #MV5-512-F, Qty 1; 6) On-site Tracer software installation and training, Qty 1; 7) Software maintenance, upgrades and documentation, Qty 1. Terms include one-year warranty. Delivery is 30 days ARO, FOB destination at U.S. Dept of Commerce, NOAA, 1315 East West Highway, Silver Spring, MD 20910. The DISC system with the Tracer software is currently being used to archive in-situ oceanographic data and is an essential requirement to meet NODC's on-linecustomer's needs, as well as the requirement for performance, reliability, and compatibility.
