A -- PROOF OF CONCEPT FOR A FISH PASSAGE TURBINE POC Connie Osborne, (208) 526-0093/Contract Specialist; Brad Bauer, (208) 526-0090/Contracting Officer The U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho Operations Office intends to issue a sole source contract with Alden Research Laboratory, Inc., which has developed a new turbine concept based on a set of proposed biological criteria for the safe passage of fish. The purpose of the proposed contract is to develop a pilot-scale turbine runner and associated equipment based on Alden's conceptual design, which is currently patent pending. The pilot-scale system would then be tested to determine the operating characteristics and fish passage capabilities, and to further refine biological criteria for fish passage. The estimated value of this award is $1,500,000. This is not a solicitation. See Note 22. (0042)
