CECOM CD ROM The U.S. Army Commuications-Electronics Command is now implementing CD technology into it's acquisition business processes, transitioning from aperature cards to CDs. Solicitation announcements will identify when CDs are to be utilized as the media for drawings. All CDs will be compatable with ISO 9660 and will work with all CD readers. The PC must have a 4mg memory. The software provided on the disks is compatable with any Intel Personal Computer that utilizes Microsoft Windows 3.1 or better. Offerors are cautioned that the CDs are NOT currently compatable in a Windows "95" enviroment. Until compatability is achieved, bidders/offerors have the option of requesting drawings by either a CD or Aperature Card medium. Instructions for us of the CD are as follows: Insert the CD into the CD reader. Open the Windows File Manager Tool and select the CD reader. Execute the software program named "INDEXR.EXE". This software program displays a Table of Contents for all data files on the disk. Within the INDEXER software, click on a document, then click on the VIEW icon. A software program named IMAGER will execute and display the document. Instructions on IMAGER are under the Help menu. Each CD which is furnished with a solicitation will contain these instructions.
